CMA evolves because our clients’ needs evolve.
Carl Marks Advisors is now CMA. This rebrand is not a cosmetic change, but a reflection of how we operate today. Along with the new name, we refreshed our visual identity and redesigned the website. The result is a clearer, more intuitive platform. You’ll find the right experience, right team, and right context quickly.
For our clients, this means a more coordinated firm with the same high standards for experience, perspective, and execution.
Our approach is proven in experience.
CMA helps companies position themselves for where value is going, not where it has been. Our work supports businesses at critical inflection points across their lifecycle.
What we’ve built over time reflects our long-standing commitment to understanding your business and the challenges and opportunities ahead. Our rebrand showcases CMA as a broader, more integrated advisory platform.
We draw on successful engagements and long-standing relationships to navigate complex terms and timing, without losing momentum or strategic focus.
What’s in a firm’s name?
Our firm began in 1925 in the securities business, built around trading and market making. Mr. Carl Marks earned a reputation in public markets defined by speed to market and disciplined execution. Over time, the firm expanded into principal investing, operational leadership, and advisory work for middle-market companies.
We advanced through the work long before the name did. The rebrand is the natural evolution of where we are now.
We are one advisory business.
Clients don’t experience their businesses in segments. An advisor shouldn’t either.
Chris Parisi, Partner
CMA brings investment banking and turnaround and restructuring together within a single advisory platform.
Our experience is that timing shifts quickly and stakeholder demands often overlap. A restructuring assignment may begin with an initial assessment. Within days, it can require us to step in as Chief Restructuring Officer to stabilize the business and lead the restructuring.
In investment banking, deals rarely travel in a straight line. When markets move or facts change, we adjust positioning and, when needed, renegotiate terms to keep the transaction moving.
CMA is the critical point of coordination for overlapping stakeholder demands.
In today’s unpredictable financial environment, more clarity is required, and more value is at stake.
Keith Daniels, Managing Partner
One set of numbers drives every decision, and the schedule does not pause. By design, CMA is a single source for the full scope of advisory engagements.
Our high standards remain unchanged.
We’ve experienced the same reality over decades of work across industries and engagements: requests don’t arrive sequentially.
CMA is a unified advisory knowledge base, applied to our clients’ unique situations. Our new name is a clear representation of our integrated advisory practice. However, our approach hasn’t changed. We are consensus builders through and through, bringing all stakeholders to a workable middle ground.
The name catches up to the services that clients need in today’s market.
